White or yellowish crystal. Easily soluble in water. Aqueous solution appears acid. Insoluble in alcohol, acetone and ammonia. Easily deliquescent and volatilized in the air. Slight odor of ammonia.
Uses
Used as materials for producing hydrogen peroxide, ammonia alum and ammonium chloride in chemical industry; flux in jointing industry; fireproof agent in textile industry; additive of plating bath in plating industry; nitrogenous in agricultural industry. Food-grade products are used as dough regulators and yeast nutrition. Applicable to common soil and crops, not only used directly, but also used as water soluble fertilizer.
Storage
As with most solid fertilizers, Ammonium Sulphate can be stored over a season as long as it is kept in a cool, dry, well ventilated area.
